WIRED Magazine reports on a study more fully covered in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in which researchers found that people who signed their names (not just printing them) at the top of forms were more honest than people who signed at the end of the form.
The article notes that signing at the top of the form “reminds you of who you are and want to be. As a result, you live up to your ideals, at least for a little while.” What would you do differently if you signed your name first?
